CMS Teachers Are Forced To Give Up Vacation Days After Hurricane Florence (Update)

According to one news site, WSCO the teachers of Charlotte Mecklenburg schools are forced to used their vacation days for make-up after hurricane Florence.

A lot of teachers are upset about this because it is not a moral thing to do. While the schools were closed, CMS used the schools as shelter for people who were evacuating.

The district has now agreed not to penalized the teachers, and they teachers are able to keep their personal days.

CMS made a statement stating that they are waiving 9/13, 9/14 and 9/17 for students and staff. They also stated that any exempt employee who took leave on the above days will have that leave credited back to their leave of absence.
